Achieving the delicate yet powerful balance between commercial opportunity and community needs, Shaffer Development uses strong ties to the Municipality and strategic, collaborative problem-solving to convert challenging properties into diverse, vibrant and dynamic retail and residential spaces.
Current Project
Shaffer Development is currently working on Spur 16, the next phase of the Mequon Town Center, named after the railroad originally on this site. Spur 16 will include the new Mequon Public Market, 156 apartments and town homes as well as restaurants and shops. Located adjacent to the Ozaukee Interurban Trail, this community focused on health and connection will have cutting edge services and amenities.
Completed Projects
1505 Apartments
In a competitive bidding process Shaffer Development was awarded this four acre site in the center of the Village of Grafton. Shaffer partnered with Bill Arpe, Principal of Fiduciary Real Estate Development, to complete the construction of 1505 apartments in June of 2017. This 77 unit project is 100% leased, and phase 2 is currently under construction.
Mequon Town Center
Shaffer purchased two of the five parcels of land to assemble the revolutionary Mequon Town Center. She worked with the American Legion and adjacent Mobile gas station to create the first Mequon multi-family development in over twenty years. This project involved creating a new zoning code, forming public and private partnerships, obtaining a city loan and a creative land swap to re-use the gas station building. This 15-Million-dollar project reached stabilization within 9 months of completion and sold for close to 20 Million within a year of completion, exceeding investors' expectations of returns.
